Duffy Hinkle has over 10 years experience working for the Ports-to-Plains organization. She began her career with Ports-to-Plains in 1999 and has served as Vice President of Membership and Marketing since 2005, where she currently oversees the coalition’s membership, meeting and event planning, and marketing.
Duffy became involved with the Ports-to-Plains project during the beginning years of the organization while working for the City of Lubbock. Working closely with many city leaders, including founding chair of Ports-to-Plains, then City Councilman and now United States Congressman Randy Neugebauer; former Lubbock Mayor Windy Sitton; and Lubbock’s current Mayor, Tom Martin; along with the entire Ports-to-Plains Board of Directors, she has worked fervently toward the development of the Ports-to-Plains organization into what it is today and continues to advocate on its behalf.
The organization which began in 1997 with only 14 members during the late 90’s now consists of over 150 members today, consisting of cities, counties, economic development corporations, colleges and universities, and private businesses along with the organization’s newest member, the Province of Alberta. Working to improve transportation infrastructure and efficiency in order to provide enhanced prosperity to communities is the common goal of the entire Ports-to-Plains organization.
Duffy is a graduate of Lubbock Christian University with a bachelor’s degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Business and Organizational Management. She and her husband, Bill, were married in 1974.
Together they have two children, a daughter, Pepper, who is a graduate of Texas Tech University along with her husband Jeff; a son, Chad, a graduate of Hardin Simmons University and Tulsa University and his wife, Samantha; and four grandchildren, Evan and Avery, Gillian, and River.
