Potter: N.D. should step back from oil development 'gold rush mentality'

U.S. Senate candidate Tracy Potter said Thursday that North Dakota needs to have less of a "gold rush mentality" when it comes to oil development and instead take a cue from former Gov. Art Link's concerns about the "one-time harvest" of natural resources in the state.

North Dakota Senate candidate recognizes the need and importance of the federal role in dveloping a four-lane highway along the Theodore Roosevelt Expressway. He Stated: "The federal government can help respond to infrastructure needs in western North Dakota, Potter said. That includes making sure the roads are adequate to handle the increasing heavy truck traffic -- including U.S. Highway 85, which he said needs to be converted into a four-lane highway."
