Testimony Of The Honorable Susan Martinovich

This testimony is an excellent presentation of the importance of the transportation system. Ms. Martinovich addresses transportation in four major points: Construction Jobs, Transportation is vital to the U.S. economy, Sustaining an Export-led Recovery, and Infrastructure Investment Deficit.

Her comments under the Infrastructure Investment Deficit were right on: “As a nation we face not only a fiscal deficit but a transportation infrastructure deficit which must be addressed if we are to ensure a prosperous and economically competitive future. Two Congressionally appointed commissions determined that the U.S. is currently investing at 40% of the level needed.”

This is a message that we need to be sharing with our friends and neighbors and with our state and federal elected officials.
