Highway 85 runs through the heart of Belle Fourche; it's also a major route to the North Dakota oil fields.
"We have seen a definite increase in traffic on Highway 85, especially in the traffic related to oil wells," DOT Engineer Mike Carlson said.
That includes hundreds of oil workers and the equipment they'll need to drill.
"Currently, we have about a thousand vehicles traveling up north a day. Of those, nearly 300 are trucks," Carlson said...
