Keystone XL Pipeline Updates

The bill that was signed into law which temporarily extended the payroll tax cut included a Republican-written provision compelling the President to make a speedy decision on whether to build the pipeline. Below are two articles that address that decision.  Based on Nebraska legislation, the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality released a map and news release identifying the Sandhills region where the pipeline will not be allowed.

The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality today announced the areas that it considers to be Nebraska Sandhills, based on an analysis of a variety of existing data. This information will be conveyed to TransCanada for their reference as the company develops a proposed new route for the Nebraska portion of the Keystone XL pipeline…
