Eastern Alberta open for business

"It's a ground floor opportunity," said Soren Odegard, the chair of the Northeast Alberta HUB economic development group. "Of a $193 billion total of major projects that are on the books, almost 67 per cent of all the investment in Alberta will be happening in the east and the north."

In the goal of connecting Fort McMurray to Texas, as well as all points in between with each other,  eastern Alberta can provide a front door, an international group heard on Wednesday in Medicine Hat.

The Ports-to-Plains Trade Association opened the first full day of its annual meeting at the Medicine Hat Lodge with an impassioned argument that eastern Alberta is open for business…
