Lynn County to benefit from new wind projects

The state is currently the largest wind energy provider in the U.S. A majority of the state’s turbines are in West Texas and along the coast, according to Paul Thompson, president of Ascendant Renewable Energy.

A 17-turbine wind farm in southeastern Lynn County is on track for its scheduled late fall completion, development officials said Thursday.

The Cirrus project is one of two wind ventures under development in Lynn and Borden counties.

The other, called the Stephens Wind Farm, would straddle the Borden-Lynn county line and will begin construction later this year...
